Rate limits

Peoplewisher applies rate limits to protect API availability and keep integrations reliable. Rate limits are enforced at the API layer and apply to authenticated API usage.

Handling a rate limit

If your application is rate limited, the API returns:

429 Too Many Requests

with a response similar to:

  "message": "Too many requests. Please retry later."
}

Your integration should:

stop sending requests temporarily
retry with exponential backoff
avoid immediately replaying the entire queue
reduce unnecessary polling
