# Service availability

> Understand Peoplewisher uptime notifications and service availability.

Peoplewisher operates the API as part of the Peoplewisher service.

## Uptime and downtime notifications

When Peoplewisher has a relevant uptime or downtime event, notification email is sent to the users associated with the affected account.

## SLA

Peoplewisher provides its standard service-level commitment.

Enterprise customers that require additional contractual availability commitments should discuss those requirements as part of their Enterprise agreement.

## Designing for resilience

Your integration should still handle transient failures safely:

* use reasonable request timeouts
* retry transient failures with backoff
* avoid duplicate writes when retrying
* log failed requests for later reconciliation
* use Peoplewisher delivery reports or Enterprise webhooks for delivery reconciliation
